Veteran Is Scammed Out Of $550, Then Cops Show Up At Her Door With A Gift

It's hard to avoid being a little gullible now and then. Sure, it can be embarrassing when your friends pull a fast one on you, but the alternative is to never have faith in anyone at all (which is really no way to live).

Unfortunately, a disabled veteran from Brown Deer, WI, nearly lost her faith in her fellow citizens after getting scammed out of $550.

Nicole Hoffmann spent a great deal of time saving up money in order to surprise her fiancé with tickets to a Green Bay Packers versus Dallas Cowboys football game. That's when she found an ad offering a pair of seats on Craigslist. Unfortunately she didn't realize it was a phony offer until it was too late.

Hoffmann's certainly not the first person to fall victim to these types of scams, after all, it can be so difficult to tell a fake from the real deal. Once Hoffmann discovered the truth, she couldn't just let the culprits get away with it, and alerted the police to her situation.

When Officer Nick Anderson heard about the fraud, he couldn't help but try to make things right and hopefully restore some of the faith Hoffman had lost. Anderson decided to go above and beyond and made some calls to see about scrounging up some tickets for her.

Not only was he able to surprise her with seats to another Packers game, but he found a bonus pair to the state's beloved University of Wisconsin Badger's game as well.

Take a look below to hear Hoffmann's emotional reaction to the generous officer.
