WWII Veteran Reunites With His Long-Lost Love After 70 Years… On Skype!

When two people are meant to be together, their love can withstand the test of time!

When Norwood Thomas was stationed outside London in 1944 as part of the 101st Airborne Division, he met a woman name Joyce Durrant. They started dating  and while Norwood doesn't remember how long they dated, he fell in love with her and was convinced that the two were meant to spend the rest of their lives together.

He says, "She was on this pedestal like a goddess, untouched, pure, unattainable."

Then Norwood was sent to Normandy and lost contact with Joyce.

When he returned home after the war, he sent letters to her, asking her to join in the United States. But she declined. It looked like Norwood's vision of his life would not come true. The two went their separate ways, married other people, and had families.

Fast-forward 70 years to today, and Norwood is a widower. And it wasn't long before he began to think about the future he had once dreamt of, the one with Joyce in it.

As fate would have it, Joyce also began wondering what life would have been like with Norwood in it. So she had her son Robert do some research on her former flame. They found a story on him going skydiving for his 88th birthday and discovered that he was still alive. So Robert contacted one of Norwood's sons.

With the help of their children, they were able to finally set eyes on one another after about 70 years. But with Joyce residing in Australia, they reconnected using Skype and talked for almost two hours!
