Watch Vietnam Veterans Perform Lip Synch To “We Gotta Get Out Of This Place”

This is a viral-worthy video if we've ever seen one before!

The Vietnam War is considered one of America's most infamous wars. President Lyndon Johnson was famously quoted as saying, "We are not about to send American boys 9 or 10 thousand miles away from home to do what Asian boys ought to be doing for themselves."

Hindsight, of course, shows how empty those words were. But one thing is for certain: Our American soldiers left for Vietnam, they fought for Vietnam, and nearly 60,000 died in the fight against communism.

As the years passed by, the returning soldiers were not given the ticker tape parades of WWII veterans. They weren't given the respect that they clearly earned in battle after battle; instead, people spit on these men who fought just as bravely against a different kind of enemy.

In the video below, you see the Vietnam veterans from Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum lip synching to the popular tune "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" by The AnimalsThe song itself was one of the most requested songs By U.S. Armed Forces stationed in Vietnam during the war.

The South Carolina museum is a group dedicated to honoring our nation's heroes, educating the public about our nation's wars, and keeping old warships ship-shape and bristol fashioned for the generations to come.

Make sure to watch this amazing music video if you make the promise to never forget our brave soldiers!

Please SHARE this fun video if you would rather hug a Vietnam vet rather than spit on them!
