Once in a while, we see police officers doing things not normally required of them. Whether it's buying a bike for a teen in need or coming to the rescue of animals (even when it's an owl), it's always interesting to hear about those going the extra mile when it's not expected.
Now a police officer in Richmond, VA, named William Kingery is being commended for taking the time to fix two broken bicycles while on duty.
One bike belonged to a cop. The other, however, belonged to a young kid in the neighborhood making Officer Kingery's gesture that much more memorable.
Fellow officer Faith Flippo tweeted photos of Officer Kingery fixing the bikes and they started getting some local attention.
"Ofc. Kingery was the shining star 2day, repairing a fellow ofcs bike & fixing kids bike in Midlo. Ville. Great day!" Officer Flippo shared on her Twitter page along with the photos.
