Every parent knows the back-to-school struggle. After a long summer of running around and playing with friends, it's time to break it to the kids that their days of freedom are numbered. And usually, the response to this news isn't the best. But who can blame kids? It really is kind of a buzzkill to get back into a routine after spending your days running around like a madman.
There are two extremes when it comes to back-to-school reactions. There's an incredible excitement to being back to the old routine and seeing old friends, like this principal is overcome with when he dances students back into the building on their first day. And then there's the negative side of things. These feelings can all be summed up by these dogs, who desperately don't want to say goodbye to the kids for the day.
Whichever reaction you have on your hands, one thing is for sure, those backpacks need to be filled up on the first day. That means shelling out the cash for notebooks, pencils, markers, erasers, and whichever other supplies that teachers are requiring that particular year. And this never comes cheap. For parents who just can't quite afford school supplies on a given year, Walmart runs a back-to-school drive to make sure families in need aren't going without.
This is where 18-year-old Kristopher Hudson steps in. This college-bound Walmart employee donates some of his paycheck each week to purchasing items for the drive. It's a true act of selflessness and generosity that is all too rare these days.
