This Soldier Will Make You Think Differently About Tattoos…

With millions of veterans in the United States and a generation of them returning home from two wars, Army combat veteran Jason Deitch has launched a revolutionary new project that will change the way most people view war tattoos.

On Veteran's Day, Deitch plans to debut "War Ink," an online photo exhibit of Iraq and Afghanistan veteran memorial tattoo art that "explores the unfiltered record of war that veterans have documented on their bodies," Deitch said in a press release. "Their story, told in their way."

War Ink will consist of a multimedia exhibit of 30 veterans from throughout California. Each veteran's story about their tattoos will be recorded and their tattoos will be photographed by Shaun Roberts whose work has been featured in GQ and Wired.com. Although some people are quick to judge when they hear "military tattoos," the veterans hope this beautiful project will put an end to negative stereotypes.
