This is a POWERFUL message and this girl uses some strong language to convey it, so proceed with caution! Madiha Bhatti is a spoken word poet who has something to say about Beyonce and pop music today…and while some of it rings true…do you agree with all of her assertions?
She suggests that Queen B – aka Beyonce – shouldn't be thought of as empowering. In fact, Bhatti says Beyonce DISEMPOWERS women by dancing in the desert and not wearing pants.
Is there, in fact, an underlying message in all of Beyonce's songs? What do you think? We've all seen Beyonce's typical bump-and-grind choreography, but doesn't this particular star stand out from hip-hop videos that use the "b-word."
What do you think? Does Beyonce empower women, or is she just as bad as rap video girls who are wearing little-to-no clothing? And what do you think of Madiha Bhatti's message overall?
