Anyone who knows me knows that I'm absolutely obsessed with my dog. My fiancé (then boyfriend) and I adopted Bella four-and-a-half years ago from a shelter, when she was just a year old. She immediately became an important member of our family — and we spoil her to pieces.
While we planned on being pet parents with rules for our pup, Bella quickly took over. She sleeps on our bed at night, she has her own Instagram (yes, I'm that person), she had a doggy DNA test done , she has more toys than we can count, and photos of her decorate our apartment (and our friends' and parents' houses).
When I came across West & Willow 's custom pet portraits, I knew I needed one. The modern portraits feature gorgeous illustrations based on a photo of your pet. They're the perfectholiday gifts for any pet parents you love.
Here's how my experience with West & Willow went:
To start the West & Willow custom portrait process, you have to pick a photo of your pet (or pets) that focuses on their face. I chose this photo of Bella because it really captures her goofy essence. You can feature up to three pets, but since I only have the one, I sent in just one photo.
Next, you choose your background color. There are three main options (soft white, dusty pink, and charcoal gray), plus additional holiday-specific options (linen plaid, pine needles, and mistletoe). I chose soft white for Bella's portrait because I knew I wanted something classic that would show her gray coloring well. At this point, you also choose your portrait size and framing option — black, white, walnut, or poster only. I chose the black frame to continue the classic minimalist look.
And that's it! After you've selected your portrait options and submitted your photo, you're done. All you have to do is wait for it to come in the mail! When Bella's portrait arrived, I couldn't wait to open it. I was thrilled with the results and I was so excited to show it to Bella.
As you can see, Bella loved her portrait (or she just thought it smelled good). My fiancé and I don't have a ton of artwork around our house, but we can't wait to hang the portrait and make our home even more Bella-centric.
