Alex, the 7-year old boy in this video, happens to have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Even though–as his mother puts it–this often causes him to feel isolated and alone, he DEFINITELY wasn’t on this day at the National Zoo. In fact, he made a friend that couldn’t get enough of him.
When Alex’s family went into the sea lion observatory, a young sea lion pup named Sophie formed an instant bond with him. Sophie is seriously following Alex’s every single move!
