Watch A Beardless Willie Nelson Perform In This Rare Throwback

Way before the distinguishable long hair and goatee, Willie Nelson was a clean-shaven dude who wore suits.

I know it might be a little hard to believe since we're so used to seeing the living legend in his laid-back attire.

But, just watch the Nelson of the past when he appeared on the beloved Porter Wagoner Show in the 1960s. Of course, that's the same show that gave Dolly Parton her start.

After thanking the crooner for being on the show, Wagoner asked him to perform the song that helped make him a "real big artist." That massive hit was "Hello Walls," originally recorded by Faron Young and written by Nelson himself.

"Well I see that you're still here/Aren't you lonely/Since our darling disappeared/Well look here is that a teardrop in the corner of your pane/Now don't you try to tell me that it's rain," Nelson sang as he played his guitar.

This is one of those old recordings that you'll probably want to watch again and again, just like the time country legends Glen Campbell and Johnny Cash performed “Folsom Prison Blues” live on TV.

"Willie, come back and see us anytime," Wagoner told the singer before he walked off the set.
