Woman Adopts Inseparable Boxer And Chihuahua After Photo Goes Viral

It all started with a simple yet touching photo. The Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Shelter in Phoenix posted a photo of two of their adoptable dogs online, and it quickly went viral. It showed a tiny Chihuahua sitting on the back of a big boxer. Huddled together in a barren kennel, these dogs needed a loving family — yet they couldn't bear to part from one another.

You see, the two dogs were inseparable ever since they were both found wandering the streets. Though keeping them together was a priority for the shelter, the chances of finding them the right forever home was slim-to-none.

But fate decided to have its way, and the internet rejoiced. Like so many others, Sonya fell in love with the picture of the unlikely friends cuddling in their kennel. She drove all the way from her home in Southern California, and the rest is history. Both pups been doing exceptionally well ever since. Sonya said the boxer, now named Charlie, and the chihuahua named Libby fit right in with her other dog, and they remain the best of friends.

"They adjusted really, really well. They're very patient and very sweet, and they're very polite," Sonya said. "I'm just amazed that nobody was missing these guys and that I was lucky enough to offer my home to them."

Though all the constant love and care is still new for the courageous canine duo, one thing hasn't changed a bit — Libby still insists on using Charlie's back as her pillow 🙂
