Anyone is lucky to find someone they want to spend the rest of their lives with. There may be over six billion people in this world, but somehow finding that special someone is always a bit of a challenge.
However, one Reddit user created a post on the online forum that realizes pretty much any person's worst nightmare when it comes to weddings. It's not that anyone cheated and or died, but somehow this woman's alleged predicament is worse.
According to this woman's story in the /r/TwoXChromosomes thread that she titled “I found out yesterday that my fiancé and I are related. He’s known for a year," this woman explains how she figured out she was in that exact situation.
Apparently while she was at her future mother-in-law's house and working on wedding invitations, this young woman uncovered the unthinkable: Her fiancé is actually her half brother.
When her mother-in-law-to-be suggested that the future groom's birth father (who is out of the picture) should be invited, the bride asked to see a picture of the real dad. The confusing situation can be much better explained in her own words:

However, when the bride went home and confronted her fiancé about the obvious problem at hand, something worse happened. She writes, "Eventually, he admitted that he's known for a year but didn't want to lose me."

He explained that because they had always talked about not having any children, he didn't see the point in telling her.
As a result, the bride wrote: "I'm betrayed. I'm disgusted. I'm hurt. I'm ashamed. I'm heartbroken. I don't know what to do."

Of course, most people's first thought would be to cancel the wedding, but unfortunately, things are never so simple. The bride explains that she has already invested a lot of money in their wedding, which is set to happen in six weeks and is mostly non-refundable.

Moreover, she still loves her fiancé and half-brother even though she feels disgusted and betrayed by the whole situation. In her words: "I've been with my amazing fiancé for two years now." She also admits that they are both nerds and that both of them have trouble "getting out there and socializing."

Needless to say, this bride's heart is broken, which is why she took to Reddit to ask for advice. It is impossible to confirm this woman's story since she shared her tale anonymously, but the confession has struck a chord with people, racking up more than 3,400 comments in less than nine hours.
