A woman didn't know that she'd be celebrating another milestone on the day that she rang the bell to mark the completion of her chemotherapy treatment. Angelica May, 27, was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer. She finished her chemo treatment on March 20 at Novant Health Zimmer Cancer Institute, in North Carolina, so she rang the golden bell and her friends and family joined her to celebrate. The day was made even more special when her boyfriend proposed.
Her boyfriend, Imeek Watkins, 25, told Good Morning America that the March 20 celebration seemed like the "perfect time" to propose because they were surrounded by their loved ones.
Though Angelica and Imeek have been together for 10 years, Angelica told GMA that she was still "very surprised" by the proposal.
She told the outlet that she looks forward to having surgery and finishing immunotherapy so she can start planning her wedding.
Though Angelica was diagnosed with cancer and went through treatment at a young age, she hopes that her story gives people hope and helps people see that "there's always a light at the end of the tunnel."

"We may not see it during the time or think it's gonna happen, but there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep fighting. Never give up. Always have hope, and always have courage," she told GMA.
