You just never know how you'll end up meeting someone new. That's what two Canadian women learned when one woman, Dawn Burke, sent out information for her aunt's funeral to a number she thought belonged to her nephew, Quentin. The number actually belonged to college student Leena Ali.
Leena briefly pretended to be Quentin until she realized the serious nature of the text message. She came clean, but asked if it would be OK to come to the celebration of life for Dawn's aunt, Debbie Celar. Dawn was so touched by the offering that she agreed.
Leena followed up and attended the service, bringing a fruit bowl with her as a gift for the family. The two women even came together for a selfie at the service. When all was said and done, Leena decided to share the story of the encounter on Twitter, where many were amused by the unlikely encounter.

Leena Ali is a university student in Ontario, Canada.

When she received a text from an unknown number, she decided to play along and have a little fun with it.
Once she realized the conversation was serious, though, she fessed up to lying about who she was.

It's a little cringe-worthy on both sides. Imagine sending family funeral information to a stranger? Also imagine messing with someone and realizing it's serious? Eek.

When she saw the text was about a funeral, Leena immediately came clean. She then respectfully asked if she could come to the celebration of life.

Dawn Burke said it was fine if Leena wanted to come to the celebration of life, but she probably didn't expect Leena to actually make an appearance. Leena not only showed up, but showed up with a fruit bowl.

Leena shared the wild encounter on Twitter, where people were both touched and skeptical.

In case anyone really wasn't believing Leena's story, Dawn posted her own version of events on Instagram.

Dawn was super surprised that Leena actually showed up after the wrong number text.

Leena drove over half an hour to meet the family.

Many admired Leena's courage to show up to the event and do something so unexpected.

Dawn noticed that Leena shared the story, so she thanked her again for being there.

Of course, people had questions about the situation. Unfortunately, Leena didn't get to meet Quentin, Dawn's nephew whom the text was meant for.

This just goes to show that sometimes life has something in store for us that we could have never expected.

Many people have shared their appreciation for the ladies taking a chance on strangers. Many have also offered condolences to Dawn's family on the loss of their beloved Aunt Debbie.
