Daughter Hand-Brailles Beautiful Cards For Her Blind Mother Every Year

All mothers deserve the best in the world, especially on Mother's Day.

Every year, children find beautiful, touching ways to express their love, and give extremely thoughtful gifts, whether it's a heartfelt surprise song, or an amazing DIY craft.

Reddit user TheCoolAuntie uses a very special technique to prepare cards for her mom each year. Because her mom is blind, she decided to teach herself how to use a slate and stylus, and to work with a braille machine.

Below, we show her beautiful creation with a lovely note to her mother saying: "You care so deeply, work so hard, and give so freely. No wonder you're loved so much."

Right underneath, the message is transcribed into braille for her mother to read.

This card has captured our hearts, and we just want to give a big thank-you to all the mothers out there!

A while ago, Reddit user TheCoolAuntie went on the internet to post a heartfelt note about her mother.

"My mother was born blind," she writes. "Every year, I hand braille her cards so she can read them!"

She was able to figure out how to use the slate and stylus, tools used by the blind to write text that they can read without assistance.

Later on, she learned how to use a braille machine, and since then has used it to make cards on special occasions.

Her mother was technically born legally blind, but that hasn't held her back!

Over the years, she has taught herself to read the written alphabet with embossed words, and can type "pretty damn fast" on a braille machine.

"My mom brailles cards, too! She always has a deck in her purse," said the Reddit user.

We're sure her mom would have appreciated her cards in any way, shape, or form — but it's truly inspiring to see the effort and love she put into her present!
