One woman is sharing her story after an infection literally made her eye grow outside of her head. And the sad part about it is, it happened right when she was supposed to fly to meet the rest of her family to help spread her late grandmother's ashes.
"I felt like the eye was looking worse and worse," she shared in a video that showed her eye clearly swollen and leaking fluid. She shared that she went to see a different ophthalmologist, who got her in with her plastic specialist, and what he discovered was shocking.
"He found that the eye is now 3 millimeters more proptotic, meaning more outside of my head than before. So essentially, there is something pushing my eye outside of my skull," she explained.
She went on to share a video from two years earlier, which is when she had two strokes and lost all her vision in her right eye. She had also found a mass in her chest and a tumor in her head. This was following a COVID-19 infection, and prior to that, the then-21-year-old was completely healthy. Doctors then diagnosed her with anxiety and sent her home.
