Back in 1998, McDonald's released a new kind of dipping sauce as part of their promotion for the Disney movie Mulan: Szechuan sauce.
Szechuan sauce became hugely popular, but after the promotion ended, and the hype for it wore off, McDonald's phased it out of their dipping sauce lineup.
Recently, the hype grew again thanks to the TV show Rick and Morty, after the character of Rick Sanchez went on a 30-second rant about wanting to track the sauce down again.
The show's legion of fans led McDonald's to rerelease a limited amount of Szechuan sauce packs at select locations. As droves of fans came out to try their luck, 23-year-old Rachel Marie was able to obtain a pack in Macomb, Michigan.
But instead of enjoying the sauce, the savvy young woman posted it on a Facebook group, hoping to trade it for some valuable pins.
She got a trade offer alright, but it definitely wasn't what she expected. Instead of pins, someone offered her their 2004 Volkswagen Golf Mk4!

Meet 23-year-old Rachel Marie, a graphic designer from Michigan.

Rachel was aware of the recent craze sweeping McDonald's locations across America: the return of the coveted Szechuan sauce! She decided to wake up early one day and try her luck.

The sauce made its grand return after nearly 10 years, and Rachel was able to get her hands on a packet.

McDonald's Szechuan sauce was originally released as part of a promotion for Disney's Mulan in 1998.

The sauce returned to popularity again after it was mentioned in the popular animated TV show Rick and Morty.
The mere mention of the sauce by the show caused fans to let loose an uproar for its return, and McDonald's obliged!

After Rachel got her hands on the coveted sauce, she decided to see what she could get for it in a trade instead of enjoying it with her meal.

Initially, Rachel posted her inquiry online in the hopes of getting some rare pins for the sauce.
But instead, a man named Duane Kimmel offered her his car!

Of course, Rachel quickly accepted the trade after speaking with Duane.
Yes. Someone traded their vehicle for one packet of Szechuan sauce.

Talk about the deal of a lifetime! And in Duane's defense, he told Business Insider that he has another car. He just really, really wanted the sauce!

I for one think that if Rachel ever wanted to try her hand at something other than graphic design, a career in business might not be such a bad idea!
