Some stories make you really question people's motives and intentions, and this might just be one of them. If your home had a power outage and you needed somewhere to stay, and you called up your partner and asked if you could stay with them, you'd expect them to say yes, right?
Or if they, for some reason, couldn't take you in, you'd expect them to be OK with you finding shelter elsewhere, right? Well, in this case, both answers would be no. A woman took to Reddit to figure out if she was in the wrong for staying at her daughter's boyfriend's house after her partner kept making excuses about why she couldn't come stay with him.
Here's some background info.
The woman is 48. She has a 19-year-old daughter, Jen, who has a 21-year-old boyfriend, Arthur. The woman also has a boyfriend, who is 51 years old.
A storm knocked the power out, so the woman tried to make arrangements.
A storm ended up knocking the woman's power out for three days. When the power went out, the woman arranged for Jen to stay with Arthur, and she planned to go stay with her own boyfriend.

The woman's boyfriend didn't seem keen on her staying with him.
"I asked my boyfriend if I could stay with him for a couple days and he kept giving me excuse after excuse so I dropped it," she explained. Excuse me, what?
The daughter's boyfriend made an offer.
At this point, the woman had nowhere to go. But it seems that her daughter's boyfriend, Arthur, overheard her conversation with her partner. "He told me I could stay with him and his dad too and I accepted," she wrote.
The woman's boyfriend flipped out.
"Long story short, Jen and I got home today and my boyfriend asked where I stayed. I told him and he flipped out."
He thinks she shouldn't have stayed with other guys.
The boyfriend apparently cursed her out, stating that she shouldn't have stayed with other guys. Mind you, he didn't care at all that it was her daughter's boyfriend and his dad.
She now wonders if she was wrong.
"He's not letting it go so I guess I'm here for my own peace of mind," she explained. "AITA for staying at my daughter's boyfriends house?"
Sidenote.
Let's just say that by reading this, it's pretty clear that the woman likely believes that she wasn't in the wrong. But for her boyfriend's sake, she's probably trying to see if anyone can explain his behavior.
Reddit users give their opinions.
One user commented: "NTA. Red flag he wouldn’t let you stay over and then flipped out about 'other men.'"
"NTA," another person said. "Do yourself a favor and just dump the man."
"He is most likely (and i mean almost guaranteed) carrying on with another relationship," suggested another user. "Not only the not letting you stay with him but the jealousy and mistrust (especially when so absurd) come from a guilty mind. He cant be trusted so why would he trust you."
There's more red flags about this guy.
This isn't the first post the woman made about her boyfriend. Not long before this current one, she made a post about him getting mad about her daughter dating Arthur. He tried to come up with every reason as to why they shouldn't be together. Mind you, he had only just started dating this woman about two months prior to her daughter getting a boyfriend.
A handful of Reddit users showed concern, assuming that the mom's boyfriend might have some ill intentions toward the daughter.
"You’ve been with him for less than 4 months," one person said. "RUN FFS. ."
