Between shaving, putting on makeup, and getting our hair to behave exactly the way we want, it's difficult for us ladies to constantly look so hot.
But all of this seems to be ignored in action or disaster movies, where all the women somehow manage to have flawless eyeliner, flat-ironed hair, and hairless armpits. Isn't saving the world and staying alive more important than making sure your appearance is impeccable? I always thought that being in an apocalyptic situation gave your body magical powers that helped you look good no matter what, but YouTube user daralaine shows us that there's a lot more going on behind the scenes of your favorite movies.
I'm so glad that someone is finally bringing this issue to light. I know I'd look like absolute trash if I was too busy fighting zombies to take a bath for a week, but somehow, the women in disaster movies still manage to look great!
Even though this video is meant to make you laugh (and for me, it definitely succeeded), it also makes you think about how women are expected to always look nice — it literally doesn't even occur to writers that women grow armpit hair if you don't shave! Maybe that's why this woman felt the need to point out how so many of us actually apologize for looking "like a mess" when we aren't wearing any makeup.
I really hope that we start seeing some changes when it comes to how ladies look in disaster movies. After all, staying alive is way more important than putting on foundation. Right? Right?
