When iconic rock band Pink Floyd's founder Roger Waters was asked to perform at the annual Stand Up For Heroes event, which raises money to help returning veterans and their families, he didn't feel like honoring the heroes. He wanted THEM to be the stars.
Waters flew to Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington D.C. to spend time with some of the Wounded Warriors who unfortunately ended up there. The rock and roll legend ended up learning that some of the injured soldiers were also musicians and invited them to New York to not only attend the Heroes event, which benefits the Bob Woodruff Foundation – but perform on stage with him.
In this touching clip, Waters honors his father who passed away serving in WWII is joined by Marine Cpl. Tim Donley and some other musicians from MusicCorps, which encourages wounded warriors to play music and help in their recovery. Their performance of "Wide River To Cross" is touching to say the least.
Please SHARE this to honor and say thank you to all the brave military heroes!
