Mom Catches Girl Hopping Over Fence To Jump In Pool, Then Realizes She Doesn’t Know How To Swim

It only takes a few seconds for everything to change. When a mom named Zarah Ajmi was given a few seconds to make a split decision, she knew exactly what to do.

In the video below, posted on April 23, 2017, Zarah explains the harrowing moment she caught a 7-year-old autistic girl in trouble.

"I had a feeling," she says. "Go make sure she knows how to swim."

Zarah's instinct led her in the right direction. She saw the little girl's head bobbing in the water in a way that looked unsettling. Although this was happening in a community pool, nobody was around to see what was going on or help out in the frightening situation.

As a mother of three, she knew that this was a job for an adult. She knew she had to save this little girl.

"I climbed up here to get over," she explains, touching the metal fence in front of her.

"It took me two or three times to get over and jump on that middle part and I just, no hesitation, jumped right into the water and got her out, pulled her over to the steps."

Zarah's daughter called 911 and soon the young girl's mother found her safe, sound, and on dry ground — all thanks to Zarah's quick-thinking and courageous spirit.
