Growing up, I thought my father was completely crazy for having parrots as pets.
They were loud, messy, and completely unpredictable, but now that I'm older, I realize just how lucky I was to have these fascinating creatures around. Unlike other pets, parrots are extremely intelligent animals (like this singing Senegal named Kili) who speak their minds and often outlive most humans.
One of our parrots was rescued from a man who must have cursed like a sailor, because certain hilarious phrases were embedded in his vocabulary for life. Their ability to remember things like humans can is pretty crazy if you think about it!
As you can see with this cockatoo and his canine companion, parrots are also way more open to interspecies friendships than other pets are. In the following video, we see a macaw named Zarro who proves that every animal wants a little TLC from their human now and then.
Zarro appears to act way more like a puppy than a parrot in that he absolutely loves getting his head scratched. A lot of people are afraid of birds with big beaks like macaws, but this video proves that most domesticated parrots are just big teddy bears once you give them the chance.
Even if you're the biggest dog lover around, I guarantee you'll fall for this sweetheart!
Please SHARE Zarro's video with your friends on Facebook if he completely surprised you!
Some love for your day…
