Christine Ziobro could not believe what she saw during the ultrasound. She was excited to be pregnant with her third baby, but she knew that her last name by marriage, Ziobro, carried a significant pregnancy disclaimer.
The Ziobros only produce male babies.
A girl hasn't been born into the family for 156 years.
“Her name was Katerina Ziobro. She was born to Joseph and Anna Ziobro, in Poland,” Chris Ziobro told CBS in 2016.
Chris and Christine already had two boys. For good reason, they expected to have another one. That was, until they saw the ultrasound.
For the first time since 1860, the Ziobros would be welcoming a precious baby girl.
We've seen a phenomenon like this before, although the Ziobros may be the longest streak. Earlier this year, the Underdahl family had their first girl in 101 years.
Coming up with a name is always a challenge, but not for the Ziobros — not this time around.
“I was like, ‘Adam and Eve,’” Christine said. “Eve is the first girl, and she’s the first girl since 1860. It’s the perfect fit.”
What do you think broke this family's boy streak?
