200 Crows Were Found Dead, Possibly From Bird Flu. What Does This Mean? Whoa…

If a "murder of crows" sounds violent to you, don't worry. It's not.

Just as there could be a pack of dogs, a herd of cattle, or a school of fish, the collective noun for crows is a "murder." If you see a group of crows getting together, it's actually correct English to refer to it as a murder of crows.

When I first read this story below, it was given the title of "A Murder Of Crows." It was a punny headline I didn't fully appreciate until I had reached the very end of the story.

Initially shared by Imgur user litlmike, this story has gone viral and has already been shared with thousands of others — especially in Massachusetts, where the event supposedly happened.

When you reach the bottom of the story, let us know your reaction in the comments. I'm curious to see if you reacted the same way I did…
