On my way to work every day, I pass by a neighborhood pet store. They sell all sorts of food, toys and treats, but rather than having posters on their windows like every other pet store, they have something different, a fish tank full of puppies. Fun, playful, beautiful puppies. Naturally, there is always a huddle of people outside of the store watching the puppies play. There is a dark secret, however, that most of those people who are watching the puppies don't realize, especially when someone makes a decision to purchase one of these puppies and take them home.
With the holiday season around the corner, I hope that this video from the ASPCA goes viral and when a loving parent passes by their neighborhood pet store, and notices one of those cute puppies in the window, they don't make the mistake that others do. Don't buy a dog, you're only fueling the machine, ensuring that other beautiful dogs are bred for our "consumption," and then tossed away like garbage when they aren't purchased.
Please help put an end to puppy mills.
