German Shepherd Hovers Over Jittery Baby Ducks, Then Pushes Them In Different Directions

What could be cuter than a huge litter of golden retriever puppies playing in the snow for the first time, or a crowd of kitties who shake their heads at the same time?

Well, maybe it all depends on your opinion in the end, but I think unlikely animal friendships are some of the most adorable bonds I've ever seen! Not only are they just precious, but those connections also say something larger about living creatures, that anyone can be friends — no matter what they look like or where they come from.

In the video below, posted on February 1, 2017, we witness this exact type of relationship between a bunch of ducklings and their unlikely protector: a German shepherd!

The four baby ducks are trying to settle into a comfortable squat with one another at home, and their large dog friend is there to supervise the whole thing.

But they can't seem to get fully comfy on their own, and the German shepherd notices and wants to help in any way possible.

The furry friend uses a nose to softly nudge each and every yellow chick into a more comfortable position. Of course, it doesn't happen right away, but the German shepherd ends up positioning two chicks against each paw.

And the ducklings definitely seem to trust and respond to their guardian dog's advice! Once the nudging comes to a halt, the ducks settle into their new digs just fine — and clearly feel as safe as can be!
