Pandas may have just been removed from the endangered species list, but organizations and wildlife activists are still hard at work trying to keep it that way. The number of surviving pandas can drop at any moment, and humans have taken it upon themselves to help these animals survive against all odds.
One of the establishments contributing to these efforts is the Chengdu Research Base in China, which breeds and raises pandas for research and conservation.
As adults, pandas can become threatening (they are bears, after all), but as cubs, keepers roam freely among them, tending to their environment and needs.
As it turns out, panda cubs enjoy the presence of their keepers — as seen in the video below, they're very persistent when they want a playmate!
In the clip, filmed at the research base, a panda cub tries to grab a keeper's attention by approaching her and getting up on his hind legs, as if asking for a hug. He even grabs her hand in a bid to lure her closer to him.
The keeper, immune to the panda's pleas for a playmate, finishes her work and walks away.
