Differently abled dogs need a lot of love and care to get the best out of life. One family has shown that they'll do whatever it takes for their blind dog.
Charlie is an 11-year-old golden retriever. His owner, Adam Stipe, has had him since he was a puppy. According to NBC Philadelphia, the adorable good boy sadly lost both of his eyes to glaucoma. In 2016, Charlie lost his left eye. A year later, the family emptied their retirement accounts to have the pooch's right eye removed. Adam and his wife, Chelsea, have taken the best care of Charlie. They were interested in adding another puppy to the household, especially after finding out that Chelsea was pregnant.
On New Year's Day 2019, the family welcomed another golden retriever, Maverick. The lively puppy was a bit much for Charlie at first, but the two quickly became comfortable with each other. Since then, Maverick has become a sort of guide dog for the senior dog. Their pure love is some of the sweetest stuff we've ever seen!

When Adam and his wife, Chelsea, found out they were expecting, they wanted another dog to grow up alongside their newborn. On New Year's Day, they welcomed a golden retriever puppy named Maverick.
It took Charlie a little while to warm up to the energetic pup. Once that was out of the way, the two became fast friends.
Charlie and Maverick do everything together now. In a lot of ways, Maverick's become a "guide puppy" for the senior dog.
Maverick has been able to help Charlie feel comforted. He's also helped keep the older boy active.
Chelsea explained their play dynamic to NBC Philadelphia: "When they would play, Maverick would realize that Charlie would lose the toy sometimes, so [Maverick] would pick it up and put it back in front of him to re-engage playtime."
Thanks to Maverick, Charlie's even acting more puppy-like again. He's taken a new interest in walking, something that he didn't like too much when he was flying solo.
Keeping up with the puppy has also been getting Charlie more exercise. That will go a long way in keeping Charlie's body in good shape.
Don't be fooled by their intense baseball rivalry! There's nothing but love between these two good boys.
