In August 2016, the Barnett family had to deal with a devastating blow. The beloved family dog, Boo, had suddenly gone missing.
It was strange, as the family was used to letting him outside to play. However, Tammy Barnett had an idea as to why he might have disappeared.
Around the time Boo had gone missing, Tammy's son DJ had been admitted to the hospital.
DJ and Boo were best friends.
Somehow, Tammy believed that Boo had left in search of DJ, as the pup was known to always seek out and find his beloved best friend.
Throughout all the hours and days spent looking for Boo, Tammy never lost hope that he was alive, that he was out there, waiting to be found.
After DJ was released from the hospital, he moved in with his dad in nearby Ohio County, Kentucky.
It had been seven months since Boo went missing.
Then one day, a family friend contacted Tammy. Boo had been found at a gas station not too far from where DJ was living with his dad!
It was as if the dog had been slowly making the journey back to DJ, knowing exactly where his best friend was.
"They are reunited, that's all I wanted, I just want my son to be happy," Tammy said. "That's all a mother ever wants for her kid."
