When You See What He’s Doing To These Dogs, You’ll Agree… This Is Beautiful!

After an exhausting 1,000-mile Yukon Quest, Brent Sass of Eureka came from behind to capture his first major sled dog racing title. After he crossed the finish line, he immediately ran to congratulate each of the dozen dogs in front of him.

In the video, Sass is seen thanking his dogs by giving them big hugs and telling them how grateful he is for all their hard work. As you can see, this was truly a sweet and emotional moment for the competitor. Sass is seen pausing for a moment longer to wrap his arms around his lead dogs, Basin and Sound, because of all the hard work and training that goes into being a lead.

"It's unreal," said Sass in a media release following the finish. "I'm real proud of those 12 dogs."

Sass completed the race, which covers 1,000 miles of rugged and unforgiving terrain, in just under nine days and 13 hours.
