Firefighters Find Cat And Chicken Huddled Together For ‘Safety And Support’ After CA Wildfire

We love a story that brings happiness to an otherwise gloomy situation, and this happens to be one of them. This story is made tremendously better by the fact that there are animals involved. Buckle in and grab a tissue; we have a feeling you'll need it.

The animals in question are a chicken and a cat. The unlikely duo became fast friends as they took refuge in a doorway together to survive the Carr wildfire that's been raging for weeks in California. They were discovered by some of the brave firefighters of the Grass Valley Fire Department, one of many firehouses working to contain the wildfire.

While both the cat and the chicken were damaged by the fire, the quick-thinking firefighters worked together to get them the help they needed. This story of compassion and friendship in the face of impossible odds will definitely bring a tear to your eye.

While cleaning up an area that the fire had blown through, firefighters found a cat and a chicken huddled together in a doorway. "The animals had survived one of the most destructive fires in memory finding comfort in each other in the doorway of a home," they shared in a Facebook post.

"After some reassurance," reads the post, "Grass Valley firefighters managed to coax the cat and chicken into the carrier where they would be together and safe as they awaited pickup by the SPCA for treatment."
