What’s that old animal proverb? Something about a cat always landing on its feet? Gymnasts as they are, cats generally bewilder us less-than-nimble humans with their agility. Of course their landing from far up places is a sight to watch, but how they even manage to get up there in the first place is a wonder of its own.
First of all, considering the fact that most cats don’t have opposable thumbs like us bipeds makes their talent for climbing things pretty remarkable. Then throw in the fact that they feel comfortable climbing heights that even, er, scaredy cat humans don’t bother with adds a whole other level of talent.
Take for instance a video posted a while back where an acrobatic cat climbs upside down up carpeted stairs. He’s no small kitty, either. But by golly cats seem to manage no matter their build.
In the video below, a cat surprised her owners when she began climbing up the vertical wooden ladder in their tiny home. The way she does it is pretty hilarious too, taking no shortage of opportunities to step on everything possible on her way up to the couple’s sleeping loft. Cats prove yet again to be sneaky little critters.
