Raising a kitten is often a very rewarding experience. Kittens practically embody cuteness!
They can't quite run full speed yet, and they often fall or wobble. They haven't mastered a powerful meow — only little, tiny squeaks. And while cats sleep a lot, kittens can sleep even more! It is enough to melt the coldest of hearts.
While kittens are loved for the fact that they are so little, their size can also cause some panic.
If you've ever almost stepped on your kitten because you didn't see them, you know what true fear is. Or, maybe you've managed to lose your kitten in the house and had no idea where they got off to.
Britney Dortiz experienced this firsthand. Both she and her mother freaked out when they could not find her 4-week-old Chanel anywhere. It appeared the kitten had vanished. Instead, she was just playing some hide-and-seek in a tissue box.
Britney is currently fostering Chanel, a tiny little kitten with a beautiful coat of fur and an adorable smile. Just look at that tongue!
One day, Chanel managed to terrify Britney and her mom, who was watching the kitty. Chanel was on a table, which was typical. Most kittens like to adventure. But a minute later, it appeared Chanel was gone.
Britney and her mom searched all over the house for Chanel. They thought she must have fallen off the table and gotten lost somewhere in the house.
But Chanel wasn't on the ground or in any of the rooms. In fact, she was hiding inside a tissue box that was on the table she went "missing" from!
It turns out Britney's grandpa needed a tissue while Britney and Mom were still searching. When he put his hand into the box, he found Chanel waiting inside.
Britney even shared a video of Chanel climbing back into the tissue box after she'd gotten lost the first time. Thankfully, this little girl wasn't missing at all and is still a happy kitten!
