Hilarious Corgi Chases Enticing Tennis Ball While Laying Down, Running In Place

There are a few things in this world that a dog is inexplicably unlikely to resist. One of those treasures is tennis balls.

You need not look further for evidence than Humphrey the British bulldog, or a golden retriever named Joey Jax who received a whole room full of tennis balls for his second doggy birthday.

Now, the ASPCA doesn't seem to have an issue with dogs playing fetch with tennis balls. "Some prefer a tennis ball, others a Frisbee," they write. "Still others are happiest with a plain old stick. Experiment with different toys and see which ones excite your dog the most." But there are some reports that suggest you should find a toy that isn't so harsh on a dog's teeth (the materials used allegedly dull them down if they chew it too frequently). As with all good things — and much like allowing your children to eat sugary foods — moderation is the key.

But if you're the proud owner of the corgi in the video below, you needn't worry about any of that. Rather than actually chase the ball, this lazy pup lays down next to it and just runs his little legs in place as he stares at it. Think of this method as the treadmill for fetch. Problem solved for everyone involved, no?
