Virginia mom and photographer Ashley Gilley perfectly captured the essence of farm life in a recent photo shoot. It features her sons, Warren and WyLee, and their pet calves.
What began as simply a reward for Warren’s potty training has now become an internet sensation.
A little backstory: As incentive for the toddler to learn how to go to the bathroom, his mom promised he could have his own cow if he used the potty five days in a row. She decided to take photos in celebration of Warren’s major milestone and WyLee’s six-month birthday.
“I never knew those milestone photos would turn into what they have and would be shared so many times by so many people,” Ashley told LittleThings, “The calves in the photos had just had a bottle, and so had WyLee, so they were both full and happy and excited to be near each other.”
You can really see the love between the little boys and their calves in every shot below!

These adorable photos really illustrate the purity of life on a farm.
The 6-month-old was totally at ease with the sweet cow.
And Norma seemed pretty relaxed herself!
Warren also got in on the fun for a few shots.
WyLee and Norma were cuddling like the best of friends.
According to Ashley, "Norma loved the attention and WyLee loved giving her the attention."
I wonder what the calf is thinking in this one. Just look at her face!
