Puppy With Broken Spine Is Thrown Away With Trash — One Month Later She Meets Her New Owner

There is nothing in this world that boils my blood faster than hearing about poor, helpless animals being abused and neglected by humans. In so many cases, these innocent creatures have no way to defend themselves, and more often than not, their abuse is at the hands of people they trust.

The only silver lining to these stories is when that suffering leads to a rescue for the animals, giving them a second lease on life.

That is exactly the case for Frances the dachshund, who, on January 18, 2017, was found discarded in a trash bag near Philadelphia.

After a Good Samaritan scooped the the injured puppy up and brought her to safety, doctors made a terribly sad discovery: Frances' spine had been broken and she'd never be able to walk again.

Thankfully, the world that isn't only home to monsters like the ones that discarded Frances. Instead, there are wonderful people like Christine Gaconos and her husband, Kris, who decided to give Frances the best life possible from here on out.

The tiny pup is even getting her own doggy wheelchair to help her get around!

Pennsylvania SPCA spokeswoman Gillian Kocher told ABC News that Frances — putting the past behind her — is finally letting her personality shine through. "She loves being the center of attention, being held and she's very playful."

While authorities have not yet found those responsible for discarding Frances in the trash, they are asking for any tips that will help give them more information.

If you're happy that Frances is finally with the loving forever family that she deserves, please tell us in the comments below and please SHARE this story on Facebook.
