A father was on his way to his son's soccer game, when something quite unexpected happened.
There was a brown figure twitching inside a nearby soccer net. That feathery lump ended up being a poor owl, caught up in the net between two goal posts. The little guy seemed frightened, but help wasn't too far away.
Two men and several bystanders were on the scene. One man held a small knife and strategized about the best way to free the helpless bird. He knelt down, making quick cuts into the white net, hoping the owl would manage to untangle itself and escape the scary situation.
Soon the man stood up and let out an idea.
In the video below, posted on February 5, 2017, the man points and says, "Why don't we give him this space — let's go around."
The man moves to the other side of the net, where he continues to poke at the net with his knife, while positioning the frightened owl for safety.
"His beak is coming right towards your hand," another man warns him.
He knows he has to be careful to get the owl out unharmed. Then, with one swift cut, it's all over.
