She Found This Pit Bull Puppy In The Trash—And Performed A True Miracle.

While his brothers and sisters were being picked out by loving families, tiny Pit Bull puppy Harper was nearly taken out with the trash.

One day, animal advocate Erica Daniels stopped to talk to a man who was selling Pit Bull puppies on the street, when she asked him what was in the trash bag. After pressing him, he handed her the bag, which contained the tiniest pup of all, who was so deformed, she couldn't even lift her head.

Erica brought the puppy to animal services, where veterinarians said she should be humanely euthanized because she had the rare and often deadly Swimmer Puppy Syndrome. Erica, who volunteers with Pit Bull rescue organization Dolly's Foundation, decided to take the puppy home for what she thought would be one day of love and affection.

The puppy shocked her by responding to her massages and Erica took Harper for further testing, which concluded she didn't have any of the other serious symptoms of the disease and didn't need to be euthanized. Erica refused to give up hope on the tiny, spunky pup and enlisted help from a group that does hydrotherapy and massage therapy.

After weeks of treatment, Harper shocked everyone by standing up on her own front legs. It's been only good things for this little miracle ever since. It's truly incredible that this little pup went from a trash bag to a diagnosis for recommended euthanasia to a dog with a clean bill of health!

Harper was unable to stand or even lift her own head. Veterinarians suggested Erica have the tiny, helpless pooch be humanely euthanized, due to the high mortality rate and complications of her disease.

"Holy cow. My little freak of nature is cured! That’s right folks, Harper is actually a normal dog now, inside and out. No pills, no drugs, no surgery. Just love, hard work, and a few women not willing to take no for an answer." Erica wrote on her blog.
