Mom Has Brilliant Solution To Dog’s Fear Of Fireworks

Booming Fourth of July fireworks can be magnificent to watch, and for some, totally terrifying to hear.

This year, one adorable dog named Joey heard his local fireworks start firing and completely freaked.

As loud shots boomed all around his native California, this precious pup, characterized by his mom, Emily Kuang, as a bit of a scaredy pants, ran to the safest place he could think of — Kuang's parents' bed.

Typically, Kuang's parents don't allow Joey, a 6-year-old golden retriever, on their bed. However, on this night, his grandparents took one look at the shaking dog huddled in fear on their duvet, and couldn't help but to cave.

Meanwhile, his mom didn't quite know how else to soothe her sweet companion. She'd put headphones on him before, to dampen loud noises, so she tried her luck with that tactic once more.

Then she took a video, commemorating her dog's panic attack.

But once she posted it online? Her adorable dog's coping mechanism soon launched him into viral stardom!

As his mom, Emily Kuang told BuzzFeed, Joey has always been "a big dog but also a big baby.

"He’s afraid of cats and loud noises."

So, the minute he heard his local California sky erupt in booming fireworks, he scurried over to Kuang's parents' bed in fear.

Normally, little Joey isn't allowed on the bed, but tonight, the whole family made an exception.

Kuang, unsure of exactly how to soothe her scared pup, covered his ears with headphones, and set him in front of an iPad playing doggy videos to drown out the noise.

Then, she snapped this precious video that, once online, melted over 100,000 hearts and counting.

While this isn't the first time Joey's worn headphones, it is the first time his precious coping mechanism stole so many hearts.

Kuang was completely taken aback by how viral the video's already gone.

She told BuzzFeed, "My boyfriend’s sister retweeted it and she has a decent amount of followers, and it just blew up from there."
