If you're a dog lover like me, then you will be very happy when you watch this video.
In Early January, twenty-three dogs rescued by Humane Society International from a dog meat farm in Seoul, Korea, arrived in Washington, DC. HSI worked with the farmer to remove the dogs from miserable conditions of a dilapidated facility, and close it for food (which is the real big win in this case). As part of the plan, HSI secured an agreement with the farmer that he will stop raising dogs for food and move permanently onto growing crops and plants as a more humane way to make a living.
Sadly, the practice of selling dogs for meat is still commonplace in many parts around the world, but as more organizations like the HSI fight for the rights of animals, more dogs can be saved. HSI is an international affiliate of The Humane Society of the United States and is working on reducing the dog meat trade in Asia, including South Korea. We are hopeful that more South Korean dog meat farmers transition out of this cruel and evil business.
Please help spread this news to other animal lovers so that we can raise awareness about this cause. No dog deserves to die or be used as meat!
