Dog Found In Construction Zone Dumpster Looking For Loving New Home

It's the unfortunate reality that sometimes, and for any number of reasons, no matter how much we love our pets, we simply can't take care of them anymore. Maybe the owners feel that they are too old to take care of a pet, or maybe the pet is too old and requires too much care. Sometimes, families move to a new home that doesn't allow animals. Sometimes, the pets are sadly unwanted. But in cases like those, luckily there are organizations that take in unwanted animals and provide shelter for them until they can find loving new homes.

In Boone County, IN, there is no animal shelter, and that is perhaps why a poor, elderly pup was unceremoniously dumped and found in a dumpster.

Construction workers had been dumping construction waste into the five-foot-tall dumpster for days, until the day a neighbor heard barking inside. So the neighbor called the Whitestown Police Department, the Whitestown Fire Department, and the Humane Society Boone County.

What they saw inside was appalling: the elderly pup had been left in the cold and the rain for hours. The pup showed all the signs of being frightened.

Authorities also say the dog — nicknamed "Ray" — was well cared for before he was found. Now, the owner has seven days to claim the pup before Ray is put up for adoption. After that time, Ray can find a loving owner who will take care of him!
