A lot of emotions come rushing back to us when we have a reunion.
Usually these encounters are a mixed bag of feelings, depending on your experience. A high-school reunion, for instance, can make different individuals feel a sense of warmth, isolation, pride, or underachievement. But when one is being reunited with a long-lost pet — like this soldier's reunion with his dog after returning home from service — the most pronounced emotion most will feel is utter joy.
This is because it’s incredibly difficult for anyone to pry themselves away from any creature whose main objective in life (other than being adorable) is to unconditionally love you. But sometimes you don’t have a choice — especially when a beloved pooch is taken from you.
I find it especially cruel when a dog is taken from young children. The kids grow and bond with that pet, and then never to get to see him again.
That's what's happened to Andrea Arce and her two young daughters, but it looks like things have worked out for them…

Three years ago, this family had their dog taken from them and sold to a stranger.

Andrea was going through a difficult breakup at the time, and the ex took the dog out of revenge.

Andrea's daughters were devastated by the loss, and Andrea spent the next three years trying to find where Rico could be.

Three years later? A miracle. He was found wandering a street in Virginia, nearly 2,500 miles away.

Rico was flown across the country so that the family could be reunited. But the best part is that the girls had no idea until it happened...
