When you think of a rainy day, most people tend to associate it with gloomy weather, being holed-up inside, and the associated bad hair that always seems to go hand-in-hand with the extra moisture in the air (hello, frizz!).
However, not everyone finds a good rainstorm depressing. In fact, some people find a good downpour positively invigorating. I guess some people just really like a lot of water. The same apparently holds true in the dog world; take this little Corgi's first experience with a water park, or this boxer who enjoys floating in the pool with his owner. These dogs simply can't get enough of the wet stuff.
And then there's this dog. This beautiful retriever is finally getting out for a walk. Having been stuck inside while the rain pounded down continuously, his enthusiasm for finally getting to go out and splash about in the water is truly heartwarming! Apparently, retrievers have an instinctive love of the water, having been originally bred in England in the mid 19th Century to retrieve waterfowl and game birds. Some retrievers have been known to want to dunk their faces in the water, any water, wherever they happen to be.
Retrievers have a highly water-repellent coat that enables them to withstand water temperatures that would certainly send even the hardiest of us humans straight back into the changing rooms for some dry clothes. Historical reasons for this breed's love of water aside, you have to agree that this dog's enthusiasm is nothing short of adorable!
