As a pet owner, I admit that I spoil my dog and cat just as much as I do my niece and nephew. From monogrammed beds to special — and very expensive — food and treats, they get the royal treatment. Honestly, I think I spend more on them than I do on myself sometimes. But one dog dad has me beat!
Al posted four photos on Twitter showing the amazing DIY project his brother thought of for his French bulldog. Instead of buying his pooch a normal doghouse, this dog dad got super creative.
He carved a rectangle out of the side of his staircase and built his dog a room. But it's not just any room, it has a light, adorable photos, and a comfy bed.
Since he posted the photos on Twitter on August 18, 2017, the tweet has been retweeted over 100,000 times by impressed pet owners all over the globe.

On August 18, 2017, Al posted a series of photos on his Twitter account, detailing the DIY project of his brother, who'd built a cozy room for his dog under the staircase.

Like many dog owners, Al's brother wanted to create a special spot for his beloved dog that was more than just a bed in the corner of his room.
"My brother built his dog a separate room in his house," Al tweeted. The post has already surpassed 104,000 retweets and more than 304,000 people have liked it.

This is the lucky French bulldog who received his very own room at his dad's house!
Al uploaded "before" and "after" photos of the room to show the transformation.

The first photo Al posted was this mid-construction photo.
As you can see, his brother carved out a small rectangle under a staircase.

Next, the dog dad put up white walls that matched the staircase. After completing the room, it was time for the dog's owner to decorate the cozy room to look just like a normal bedroom.

Here is the completed room. You can see the French bulldog is super comfortable in his bed. The little details add the cutest touch.
There are photos on the wall, of the dog, his owners, and even one of him with a late friend.
"He went to doggie heaven about a year and a half ago," Al responded to a Twitter user who'd asked about the other dog in the photos.
The little nook is just big enough for the essentials.

This photo gives a better idea of the size of the room for the dog under the staircase. You can see he's just a few steps away from his food and water!
Thanks to the DIY project, thousands of pet owners want to create the same thing for their animal.

Any cat owner will see the humor in this Twitter user's comment. Many others replied that they were thinking of building a similar room for their pet.
There were even people who were jealous of the precious dog room!

This commenter has a great sense of humor — writing that the dog's room is about the size of her New York City apartment!
