This Dog Is An Angel In Disguise – You’ll Never Believe What He Lived Through!

Lazarus the dog was scheduled to be euthanized on September 10, 2014. Wanda Snell, an animal control officer, watched a vet stick a needle into the dog — a dog who had been hit by a car and who hadn't been claimed – and watched his eyes close and his body stop moving. But when she came back the next morning, she got the surprise of her life.

Lazarus (named after a story in the Bible where a man is brought back to life by Jesus) was standing up in his cage, tail wagging. Somehow, he had survived the lethal injection.

“He was back up and breathing and going right about business like it’s nothing,” said another police officer involved in the case.

While no one is sure how Lazarus survived, one shelter volunteer had an idea: “His body overcame and he had a will to live and somehow, someway he made it through.”

In the best twist ever, Lazarus has since been adopted, and after a few "wobbly" days following the injection, is now a happy and healthy dog.

“He’s not skittish, he’s not afraid of anything, anybody, any sounds,” his foster mother says. “I mean, it’s just amazing what all he has been through.”

Nobody wanted the badly injured, mixed-breed dog, so the shelter was forced to euthanize him.

But somehow, Lazarus survived, and is now living with a new foster mom and dog brother in Birmingham, Alabama.

Before his attempted euthanization, Lazarus was also hit by a car, but survived both.

The other dogs who were euthanized with Lazarus passed away, but somehow, he recovered.
