Worker Sees Pit Bull Chained Up In Freezing Cold, Then Notices His Ribs Poking Out And Calls 911

For those of us who have pets, we treat them like they are family. We wouldn't leave them starving, or in extreme heat in a car, or outside in the cold.

Unfortunately, not everyone shares this philosophy. Too many dogs and cats are neglected, on purpose or due to certain circumstances, and die neglected.

Thankfully, many concerned citizens will alert the authorities or animal rescuers when they see a pet in trouble. This utility worker did exactly that when he let his mother know that there was a starving pit bull out in the cold, chained up but seemingly abandoned.

That woman, Cindy, also happens to be a pit bull advocate. She immediately jumped to action and called the police, hoping that they could rescue the poor animal.

The cops were not able to take any action simply because it looked like the pit bull had food and water, so Cindy sent a message to a friend on the force, and this time, cops showed up to the home.

What they found was truly terrible: the dog was emaciated and shivering in the cold. Animal control took him away from the family and transported him to a shelter where he could get the help needed to recover.

Cindy stresses that new laws now make it illegal to leave animals out in the cold, but that sheer compassion should stop owners from doing so.

Please SHARE if you're thankful that this pit bull was able to be rescued before it was too late!
