Nine-Foot-Tall Cat Tower Is The Perfect Feline Playground

These lucky cats just hit the playtime jackpot.

Recently, Imgur user mayasparrow's rescue cats needed a new place to play.

Thankfully, their DIY-ing mom had an ingenious idea brewing. She immediately got to work, building her cuties a nine-foot-tall cat tower, designed to accommodate all of their playing, climbing, napping, and scratching needs.

This DIY-er added all sorts of cool, quirky features to her cats' gigantic tower, including a cat house, dangling squeaky toys, a cat-sized hammock, and more.

She also covered the whole structure in carpeting, so these cuties can claw away at it as much as they'd like.

Once her tower was complete, her cats seemed to immediately embrace their new, swanky playground. Between its cool features, climbable steps, and lounging areas, this tower will likely keep these little cuties busy for quite some time.

Recently, Imgur DIY-er mayasparrow decided it was about time her adorable rescue cats had their own play place, aside from the pre-existing family furniture.

She quickly decided to build them a gigantic, nine-foot-tall cat tower.

Building a tower this tall would certainly require attention to stability.

To best accommodate her stability concerns, this DIY-er decided to use large, strong PVC pipes as the tower's pillars, and mapped out a layout.

Once she decided on the right configuration, she and her co-builder created the tower's wooden base.

They glued and nailed it together, letting it cure for a full day before moving on to the next step of her build.

Further stabilizing this massive cat tower structure, this DIY-er decided to craft little plywood columns, designed to live inside the piping's ends.

These columns would root the PVC pipes to the tower's wooden base.

Now that she had the logistics of her tower's core structure in place, this DIY-er shifted focus toward adorning her cat tower with all sorts of fun play and lounging spaces.

She used a jigsaw to cut out a bunch of little platforms.

Next, she positioned these platforms at varing heights and directions all up and down the tower's pipe columns.

What cat tower would be complete without a cat house?

This DIY-er used segmented pieces of plywood to give her cat house a nicely rounded roof.

As their mom added more features to their tower, these little cuties began testing out each new addition.

For example, they found this ledge to be perfectly suited for snuggly nap time.

After methodically carpeting the entire structure, this DIY-er decided to hang a few adorable cat toys from one of its many ledges.
