Goldilocks And The Wolf: A Real-Life Fairytale Of Surviving Domestic Violence

When the beautiful blonde Amanda met blue-eyed Kyro, it was love at first sight. Unfortunately, Amanda was taken and feeling trapped in an abusive relationship. Her boyfriend of about a year was treating her, as she describes, “like a human punch bag.”

“I had several bruises, black eyes, and bloody noses. I lied a lot. I told people I’d fallen down stairs. I was uncomfortable telling people I had been hit,” said Amanda.

To get out of the house, Amanda answered an ad on Craigslist, volunteering to bottle-feed Siberian husky pups after the mother of the litter was unable to care for them. She instantly fell in love with Kyro and brought him home, but her boyfriend's behavior worsened.

Amanda said, “I caught him hitting Kyro. Usually, I would run to protect Kyro and get hit instead. It’s one thing to hit me, but when I saw him hit Kyro, I knew I had to leave. It was the last straw.”

At the same time Kyro and Amanda escaped the abuse, Amanda found photography and started her own business. It’s fittingly called “Goldilocks and the Wolf.”

“I needed something else. Kyro became my world. The only positive thing in it at the time,” said Amanda.

About three times a week, Amanda and Kyro hike the mountains of Washington state in search of the most beautiful scenery and share it with their 55K-plus followers on Instagram. Living life happily ever after.
