There's nothing better than watching a soldier reunite with a spouse, child, or parent — but dogs are just as much family, too.
Need proof? This adorable video is guaranteed to make you smile. Here we see not one but two giant Great Danes lounging on the couch at Diggity Dog Daycare in La Crosse, WI. Calla and Wrigley spent many of their days there, ever since their mom left for Afghanistan where she was stationed. The pups waited for six months for Mom to return home, and they're finally about to get their wish. Calla and Wrigley had no idea she was about to walk into the daycare as cameras prepared to record the big reveal. It only takes a second to see just how sweet these two love bugs truly are as they leap off the couch, run to Mom, and do all but tackle her to the ground. My favorite part comes at the 45-second mark, when Calla gets so excited that she lands on top of Wrigley's body, hilariously straddling him to get to Mom. She definitely doesn’t want to compete for all the kisses 🙂
It’s special moments like this one that make me beyond grateful for our American troops. They sacrifice so much being away from their loved ones (both two-legged and four) for long periods of time to fight for something so much bigger than all of us. It’s the most courageous and selfless thing you can do.
