Gaia the dog was abandoned on the side of the road, and was shortly hit by a car after that. Despite her injuries, she gave birth to three puppies, and was doing her best to keep them safe in the deserts of central California.
Someone who had been feeding the dogs notified a local rescue organization, but by the time someone arrived on the scene, Gaia had been hit by another car and killed. The rescuer found her and promised her he'd save her puppies, and eventually, he was able to find all three of them, huddled inside a deep hole. After countless hours, all three of the puppies were rescued and taken to a shelter, and happily, all three have been adopted!
I'm so happy there are kindhearted people out there who make it their mission to save animals!
